A travel journal documenting one of four trips to Africa-South Africa and Botswana in October of 2012. Later to add other entries from previous travels to Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Mykonos, Santorini, Athens, Costa Rica and Peru including my hike to the top of Machu Picchu.
Other countries visited on safari in Africa including Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia.
Watching this mating ritual never gets old. Locating this pair away from the rest of the pride could only mean one thing-mating. They were resting apart when we drove up into view. Like clockwork they rest for 15 minutes and mate for 30 seconds ending with a roar and a bite on the neck. This behavior repeats each day for approximately 5 days until she becomes pregnant.
